Opposition leader Raila Odinga, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Nark Kenya leader Martha Karua were some of the leaders from Kenya who attended the opening of the opening National Democratic Party Convention in Pennsylvania’s largest city Philadelphia.

The leaders are attending the convention where former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be crowned presidential candidate to face off with Donald Trump in November elections.Raila is also expected to meet other US leaders on the sidelines of the Convention.Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja was also invited to attend the convention among foreign ambassadors, members of parliament, leaders of political parties, ministers and about 100 members of the United States-based diplomatic corps invited from across the world. The three are among the few African guests set to attend the convention as panelists at the International Leaders Forum (ILF), an event organised by the National Democratic Institute (NDI).

The National democratic institute has organised an ILF at every convention since 1984 as a way for international visitors to observe the convention proceedings and take part in a series of bipartisan panel discussions on the US political process, foreign and domestic policy issues, and media coverage of the presidential race. The convention ends on July 28.
