Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka will keep off President Uhuru Kenyatta’s tour of Ukambani as neither he nor his party MPs have been kept abreast of the President’s programme for the visit.
Lawmakers from the region, led by Kitui Senator David Musila and National Assembly Minority Leader Francis Nyenze, told journalists they would welcome the President but were surprised that they were not formally informed of the visit.
He was, however, categorical that Mr Musyoka would not be involved in the three-day visit.
“We are lesser persons, so we can afford to run around and look for him and know where he is,” said Senator Musila at a press conference at Parliament.
Accompanied by MPs Daniel Maanzo (Makueni), Mr Nyenze (Kitui West), Jessica Mbalu (Kibwezi East), Susan Musyoka (Machakos woman rep) and Peter Mathuki of the East African Legislative Assembly, Mr Musila said they were looking forward to progress on several projects.
