TNA has demanded that Paul Njoroge state on whose behalf he said Central will not automatically support William Ruto ‘s 2022 presidency bid.Party national chairman Johnson Sakaja said they are aware of political forces keen on causing a rift in the ruling Jubilee coalition.Sakaja said Njoroge, a Senator, and his co-conspirators should know Jubilee is clear on the 2017 and 2022 tickets.”He has no authority to speak on behalf of the Jubilee coalition, especially not on matters he is not conversant with,” he said.”Their efforts shall come to naught. Njoroge must desist from being used by our political opponents.”Sakaja said in a statement on Thursday that Njoroge should stop issuing such remarks as “they are just but a weak attempt to cause confusion within Jubilee”.Kiharu MP Irungu Kang’ata petitioned The National Alliance party on Wednesday to recall Njoroge’s nomination after his utterances.Kang’ata said the Nominated Senator had denounced TNA’s goal of ensuring DP Ruto succeeds President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.In protests on Monday, Naivasha residents burned a figurine of Njoroge and lashed out at him for his “baseless” sentiments.Njoroge issued the remarks at the weekend and said Ruto should not demand Central’s support in the 2022 general election. He asked the DP to “stop trying to blackmail Kikuyus to automatically support him”.Earlier in June, Kiambu Governor William Kabogo said the Mt Kenya region will not support Ruto’s bid for president in 2022. But he later apologised and assured Ruto of support.
