Do not count on TNA’s support Mr.Ruto – Cord leaders

Cord Co-principals during the launch of Kalonzo’s website.

The Cord co-principals yesterday warned DP William Ruto not to be deceived that TNA will support him in 2022. The leaders said they have been victims of political deceit after supporting former President Mwai Kibaki twice.
“The latest is when President Mwai Kibaki and Kalonzo Musyoka had an MoU to start the shuttle diplomacy, so that the UN and the ICC could defer the cases, promising to support the latter in 2013, but they brought Uhuru Kenyatta and forgot about my brother [Kalonzo],” Cord leader Raila Odinga said. He was referring to the now-collapsed ICC cases against President Kenyatta, Ruto and journalist Joshua Sang.
Raila warned opposition politicians against trusting the Jubilee administration, saying they were buying allegiance to continue stealing from the government and legitimise their unconstitutional activities. “We have actually seen tribalism and nepotism grow in the government, because some people somewhere want people to defend them,” Raila said.He spoke at a Nairobi hotel during the launch of Kalonzo’s website; Kalonzo said he had an MoU with Kibaki at the height of the 2007-08 post-election violence to support the then President. He said Kibaki was in turn supposed to support him in 2013. “I walked around with Kibaki and he assured my people they will support me but it never happened,” Kalonzo said. He said he is writing a book about his life that will also expose deceitful politics. Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula said the struggle to liberate Kenya has just started
