Police deployed to Kisii University to restore calmness after students rioted.

Kisii University students burned a section of the administration block in protest over an order to clear school fees by Monday or postpone their studies.

But they opposed the directive, setting the section housing the fee collection department ablaze.

Last week, Vice Chancellor John Akama, issued a memo to all students to clear their fees or be automatically deferred by the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

“Those who will not have cleared their fees by the October 17 will automatically be deferred by the ERP system and will have to wait for the subsequent academic year to register again,” the Vice Chancellor had said.

Police officers have been dispatched to quell the situation.

Residents of kisii county will hold peaceful demo over poor road .

Tomorrow (Tuesday 13/09/2016 ) Residents of kisii county will hold peaceful demo over poor road …..The peaceful demo will Start from Nyamataro – Nyatieko – Daraja mbili market to Kisii Town.
Kisii town–Nyambera- Nyamataro road is in a totally bad condition it has holes and area MP has done nothing to help.
The residents of Kisii county have always complained . Kisii town–NYambera-Nyamataro road is impassable and is in bad condition and appealed to Kitutu Chache South Member of Parliament Richard Onyonka to construct the road. This in not the first time they appealed to the MP to construct the road since he was re-elected in 2013 and nothing has been seen on the ground.
Yesterday three people died after they were hit by a truck at Nyakomisaro River Bridge in Kisii town–NYambera-Nyamataro road
Two pedestrians – a young man and his grandmother – and a pillion rider died.
The bad road caused the accident of the lorry which had left Kisii Central Business District.
The potholes caused one of the tires to burst hitting a boda boda rider and his passenger,”
Kisii Police Commander said the lorry lost its brakes when it hit a pothole “making it dance zigzag as it drove down the slope”.
According to my opinion, Kisii leaders should not deceive residents that certain roads are under county government or under national government let both of them work together to rehabilitate such roads for easy transport in the region
When Kitutu Chache South Member of Parliament Richard Onyonka was asked to take action and construct the road he claimed that the road should be constructed by the county since it is near to Kisii town for how long are we going to face such claims?

On Saturday 27/08/2016 Egesa fm will be Live from Kisii Central SDA church for Sabbath Lesson Discussion #KISIICENTRALCHURCHCAMPMEETING

Further Thought: Read Deuteronomy 15:11, Job 29:11-17, Proverbs 14:31, 19:17, Acts 3:6, James 1:27-2:5; Ellen G. White, “Pioneering in Australia,” pp. 327-338, in Welfare Ministry. Paul, like Jesus, was involved in meeting the expressed needs of people. We can see this, for example, in the famous story of Paul at Mars Hill in Athens. In Acts 17:23, Paul, provoked by the idolatry that he saw in the city, engaged in lively discussions with the local intelligentsia and anyone in the marketplace who would talk with him. He became aware of their needs and issues. He discovered that they had an unknown-God-shaped hole in their lives and that they needed to know the true God and to stop worshiping useless idols. He then began to preach in the synagogue, where both Jews and “Gentile worshipers” (Acts 17:17, NKJV) were. In other words, he took advantage of the opportunity he had and reached out with the gospel. Paul sought to meet them where they were, as we can see by how he talked to the people when at the synagogue and in the street. The masses believed in some kind of deity, because they had built an altar to “the unknown God” (Acts 17:23). Working from that premise, Paul sought to point them to the God “ ‘whom you worship without knowing’ ” (Acts 17:23, NKJV). He even later quoted one of their own poets, who happened to have written something true: “ ‘ “We are also His offspring” ’ ” (Acts 17:28, NKJV). Starting from where the people were, he wanted to lead them away from their idols to the living God and Jesus, raised from the dead. In short, assessing the needs of those whom he wanted to reach, Paul then tried to help fulfill those needs.

Discussion Questions:

  1. “He who taught the people the way to secure peace and happiness was just as thoughtful of their temporal necessities as of their spiritual need.” – Ellen G. White, The Desire of Ages, p. 365. What important message is given to us here in regard to why we should minister to the needs of others?
  2. Why do we, when thinking about outreach, have to be careful not to forget what our ultimate goal is? What is that ultimate goal? Give reasons for your answer.
  3. How can we learn to view some interruptions not as annoyances but as sacred opportunities for ministry? How does Galatians 2:20 help us in this area?

Shabana FC earned a reprieve from Football Kenya Federation Competition Committee after their game against Police FC that failed to take off earlier June was declassified as a walkover.

Shabana FC Celebrate a goal against Kakamega Homeboyz during FKF Premier league at Kasarani on Sunday, March 29th

Troubled Gusii-based National Super League (NSL) side Shabana FC earned a reprieve from Football Kenya Federation Competition Committee after their game against Police FC that failed to take off earlier June was declassified as a walkover.

The fallen former top flight giants’ fate in the second-tier hinged on the decision of that match after their Sunday tie against Nakumatt FC failed to take place after the visitors failed to show, gifting the league leaders maximum points.

Had the federation declared the Police FC game a walkover, it would have been a third abandoned game for Shabana meaning automatic relegation according to FKF rules.

The former top flight giants awarded Oserian FC a walkover on June 5 and a week later, match officials gave Police a 2-0 victory on the grounds Shabana were not ready for the match because the Awendo Green Stadium playing pitch was not marked.

“According to the committee, Shabana has handed in only two walkovers, to Oserian and Nakumatt.

“The Committee decided to cancel Police walkover stating that since both teams attended the pre match and were checked by the match officials, unmarking of the field could not justify a walkover,” FKF media boss, Barry Otieno confirmed to Citizen Digital.

Instead the committee declared the match as forfeiture as the host failed in providing a suitable playing ground.

Shabana’s Secretary General, Stephen Kiama, had laid blame on his Chairman, Jared Nivaton for missing to take lead in preparing the team last weekend’s clash.

“The team was well prepared-even ready to travel to Nairobi .We tried to reach the chairman since he was the one in charge of the team’s facilitation. He never showed up. He could not be reached on his phone even to date.

“Our efforts to reach him have since proved futile. We are thinking of mandating the current Vice chairman Doctor Nyandoro Kambi to lead the team starting with the coming game against Zoo Kericho,” Kiama asserted.

Citizen Digital could not reach Nivaton since our calls could not go through.

The team that was re-admitted to the second tier via a decision of the Sports Disputes Tribunal is now in danger of being thrown out of the competition if they fail to honour a third game.

“I believe the committee has done a letter to the club informing them that if they hand in another walkover they will be suspended for the rest of the season and then relegated to the lower tier,” Otieno added.

FKF expelled West Sugar FC from the second tier in April for refusing to honour three consecutive games due to financial constrains that had engulfed them making its operations technical.

Vihiga All Stars and Eastleigh Youth FC were also axed from the FKF National Division Two by FKF two months away for absconding matches.

Meanwhile, the league shall take a rest this weekend as teams take a diversion attention to take part in weekend’s GOtv Shield, as Nakumatt faces KPL’s side Bandari FC in a double header that will see slum boys Kariobangi Sharks battle out with Kisumu’s Palos FC this Friday.

Agrochemicals shall be fighting for a position to remain in the tournament when they shall face Vihiga United on Saturday while Wazito open up another double header with Bidco United at Mumias before AFC Leopards match to Kakamega based Homeboys.

Nakumatt assistant coach Fred Ambani has revealed that they will employ a cagey approach against Shabana

Nakumatt assistant coach Fred Ambani has revealed that will employ a cagey approach against Shabana in their rescheduled match to be played on Monday 25 July at the Camp Toyoyo Grounds.
In an interview Fred Ambani described Shabana fc as tricky opponents adding that they will accord them with the respect they deserve.
“Shabana is a totally different team now. Their recent performance is evidence that they have really improved. We are working on the mental preparation of our team because we expect stiff competition from Shabana. It is not going to be an easy game and we want to change the mentality of our players.
